About Us
Prom Country Aged Care is a community-based residential aged care service, which was established in 1985 to meet the needs of people in the Prom Coast district.
At any time, up to sixty people from Welshpool, Port Franklin, Toora, Foster, Fish Creek, Hedley, Sandy Point, Waratah Bay and even further a-field, call Prom Country Aged Care ‘home’.
Not all aged care residents, however, are drawn from this immediate catchment area. Many people who had moved away from the district in their younger years have returned after long absences to be near family and friends, and take up residence at Prom Country Aged Care. Others move to the district for the first time, drawn by Prom Country Aged Care’s good reputation and the shortage of places in metropolitan areas.
Formerly known as the Corner Inlet Community Care Association, Prom Country Aged Care is registered as an incorporated association in accordance with RHE Associations Incorporation Act 1981 and The Associations Incorporations (Amendment) Act 1997.
Our voluntary Board of Management is drawn from the organisation’s membership base, which represents a cross-section of the community.

- Corner Inlet Community Care Association was registered as an Incorporated Association in 1990 to oversee the management of both Toora Nursing Home and Banksia Lodge Hostel.
- An eight bed extension was built and furnished at Banksia Lodge in 1992. it was named the Norm Jones Wing in recognition of a considerable bequest from the late Mr Jones.
